Familial Patterns
My new series, Familial Patterns: Family Hist(ory/ology), deals with the intersection of transcribed medical family history and family history buried in childhood memories. Using nostalgic patterns and objects from home, I depict intestinal sections with unique tissue stains. Traces of digestive problems run through my early memories of relatives. By revisiting my past, I hope to uncover more answers about my condition.

Lace Heirlooms
Like diseases, lace-making and traditional crafts are usually handed down through generations. In this new age of AI, the revitalization of handmade and handicraft remains in stark opposition to what is quick and easy to make. I use traditional lace motifs and slow, handmade paper cutouts to “unravel" the mysteries surrounding my condition. The surgical precision of paper cutting is a meditative practice I revel in.
The piece "Frayed Foundations" took a total of eight months to complete with over 200 hours of cutting.
